Studio and environmental portraits for event and wedding participants, just plain folks and professionals alike. One good window or one good strobe, an unhurried hour, and the sitter leaves recognizing themselves.
Portraits are where 35 years in printing and graphic arts show up clearest — in the shadow detail and skin tones that hold up a meter wide. Sittings run about two hours, on location or in studio, working with the light that already exists.
The setup is often a single strobe and a large softbox, feathered so the edge of the light does the work. With the technical decisions settled in the first five minutes, the only thing left in the room is the person — the conversation gets better and the silences get longer.
